The nigerian music industry is unarguably is one of the fastest growing in the world,it may very well pass as the most outstanding segment of our national life today,i stand to be corrected.The truth about its ascendance and the global recognition is no fairy tale!strong nigerian artistes like D'banj,Nneka,Wizkid,Ice prince,but to mention a few emerged as global brands in 2012.
The keen competition among superstars doesn't exempt our local music heroes.it may even be said that comptition is more intense among up and coming musicians than it is among the superstars.Good,for the industry,this is.After all gazing into the mist of 2012,very few would have anticipated olamide,Flavour,Ice prince to seal their classes among the elite of the industry;the arrival of Burna boy,AJEBUTTER 22,Dammy krane,Antiviruz,and lady Tonto[at least as a singer],the resurgence of Eedris Abdulkareem,Tony Tetuila[early 2013]and the like are also testimonies,The veil is still thick and year 2013 is far from being spent but due to the signs of progress seen in these artistes,we came up with a list of 13 artistes who could make their in 2013[much respect to those who didn't make the list,no love lost]
- FLOWSSICK:flowsick,the man who was recently 'axed' from kollertunz records,possesses sheer quality that no one can deny.I must admit he did a little too small last year[i'm quite sure he himself would admit this].with a style similar[not the same]to general pype's,i see them as our gyptian and future,based on style.his recent independence could mean he is ready to get on any track and murder the beat.just take it slow.
2. V.O.L.A: A very original lyrical artiste.say he sounds like the dream,i would say you are right on point.He has been seen performing in the nooks and crannies of the country but he released his first official single titled SUAVE on the first day of 2013.Primed to fly to france to shoot the video of his first official single in march and recently concluded a marketing and promotional deal with spinlet,the sky seems to be his starting point.Big year ahead.

MAYBOIZ:Another p-square!They obviously are not cool with calling them p-square but what choice have they when their biological names are peter and paul and they are twins.Born on may 26,as their name suggests,mayboiz have performed live on stage alongside Akon.Bizzouch and Samclef are the producers of their released tracks,'DO ME' and 'ANSWER ME' respectively.Clarence peters shot the video for 'DO ME' .What else?These guys are next to blow,i feel the heat.
4.JAY MARCUS:Another yoruba lyricist.famed for his debut track,Ni'gboro,released in may 2012,he has already shown how hot 2013 would be when he dropped his new single 'GO DOWN' just 15 days into the new year.His immaculate fusion of yoruba inti RnB would definitely pave the way for him to feature in songs.If he features and takes the hook in choruses of more than 100 songs this year,don't be surprised.
5.NIYOLA{E.M.E}:She remains the only star without a medal.signing to the reigning music outfit in Nigeria got her the fame already,but now she has word to do.Is she that good?I'm not questioning Banky W's judgement but she still has a point to prove,and if this be her drive for the year,another diva could yet stun the industry.
6.AKIN MUSIC: The canada-based singer released his debut album last year and since created a niche for himself in canada and america.He promised at the Nigerian entertainment Awards last year to be back to Nigeria to make good music.This is such an exciting prospect.Giving his level of talent and energy,another star will be born soon.
7.WAYZ BOY:Grew up in the same area as Wizkid,music seems to be a genetic mutation of sululere.Dropped his first single at the age of 14 and has been growing ever since.Slightly over 6 years after his first track,his new track 'BOOM BOOM BAM' characterise a high energy dancehall song.With over 50,000 download already,the reason why he is heading for stardom so fast is evident.
8.DANLIL: The Anambra born singer is already making so much effort to be known both within and outside nigeria.He released some beautiful singles early this year and also Dropped an album mixtape titled{AM GOOD}and his presently signed to 'morecash records'.The 17 years old upcoming star is also talking issues with 'square records'[ we all know p-square] no further stories revealed.He just recently dropped a new single titled[bulumjebe],which the video is due for release july/august 2013.Am very sure about this guy,his going to storm the Nigeria music industry this year,dont be surprised when you start hearing the name all over the nation.
9.FAME:Fame is a multi-talented Award winning Artiste/songwriter/producer and CEO of PLAYTUNES ENTERTAINMENT Born in 28th September 1988,Fame Whose real name is daniel Ose Atuah,is a son to Mr Atuah felix from the ancient city of benin kingdom.He has worked with so many artistes both within and outside Nigeria,He recorded a full album project while in school and dropped an Ep of 13 Track,and was Nominated four times in the south south music Award Alongside LINXX,SOLID STAR,OREZI,DUNCAN MIGTHY,MALEKE,ORISHE FEMI,ERGGA.Which he won the best new Act 2011 After releasing his new song Titled{Follow your heart}which gave him lots of nominations.He has also worked with a lot of artistes in his upcoming album called[IMPERFECT ME]with the likes of 2face,harry song,terry tharapman and lots more.You have to set an eyes on him this year.
10.SABATINNI:There is know difference between him and 'General pype',when it comes to ''sabatinni'' its all about ragga.He was signed back then to Antiviruzmusic but it seemed thing were'nt working out well with him and the label so he heard to leave,he is now currently based in lagos and also working on new singles which will soon be released.His recent mind blowing single titled ''BOOTY GO'' had over a 100,000 downloads on the internet,which attracted some nice record labels.Sabatinni is definitely coming out with fire this year,as he is ever ready to kill any beat that comes across him..
11.P.R.E:Pretty,Rude and Entertaining.Already droppred a new track and video this year,no slowing down for the Bayelsa born singer.The video was shot in port harcourt,lago,south africa and london,Obviously,you cant expect more fromanyone else.
12.SEAN TIZZLE:Already making his fame with his new released single/video titled 'SHOLE' is signed to D'TUNES ENTERTAINMENTS.He has also droped three singles alongside 'SHOLE' which is making wave on the net massively.He is just still coming up but i think he got lots more to offer this year so lets watch out for this young good looking guy 'SEAN TIZZLE'.
13.ADAZ:Been a long while now after the release of a single which made so much wave is the south south and around nigeria.Everyone thinks his no longer in the game,but here he is stronger and mightier,just dropped a new hit single titled 'ULENA' with featured flavour nabania.The video of the song was directed by 'DJ TEE' which is also due for release anytime from now.Adaz is coming back into the game fully this time,so you all should get prepared for him..
